Part Time Special Event Manager - St. Louis

POSITION SUMMARY:  Special Events Manager; part-time with flexible hours and days, approximately 20 hours a week, including at least one evening per month. Responsible for executing established special-events in St. Louis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage/Partner and motivate event committee to ensure tracking on task and schedule
  • Assist in the recruitment of new committee members
  • Partner with Special Event Manager counterpart in the execution of the assigned events
  • Communicate regularly with  volunteer committee members  regarding updates & deadlines
  • Promote event through a variety of channels (i.e. email, mailed invitations, social media)
  • Sell event tickets, program ads, event sponsorship
  • Manage event registration and auction items through online platform
  • Secure lead gifts for Fund the Mission
  • Acquire new sponsorships and execute sponsorship package fulfillment
  • Work with graphic designer to create event program
  • Solicit and secure live and silent auction items
  • Manage event logistics including set-up, décor, and timing
  • Accurately record all income and expenses

Required Experience:

  • Professional fund raising experience and committee development
  • Tracking and achieving goals
  • Attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to work with and partner with diverse personalities and expertise
  • Multi-task and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience with online auction/mobile bidding platforms and email blast software

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Physical Demands:  While performing duties of the job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. 


Work Environment:  Travel is required during weeknights and weekends.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working remotely.
